theme Zine

For this project, I had to choose a movie and create 5 spreads for a themed zine that would describe the themes of the movie. 500 Days of Summer seemed to be the perfect depiction of this concept, as it explores a relationship's progression in parallel with the four seasons, Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. Spring depicts the blossoming of a new relationship, Summer shows the feelings of love and adoration, Fall shows how time can slowly bring out the flaws in a relationship, and Winter depicts the loneliness and sadness that accompanies a breakup. However, I included an additional spread for a new Spring at the end of the zine, as the movie shows that although you may think you found the one and will never find love again, that there is always the chance for the blossoming of a new relationship with someone new and better for you. It was a really fun project and I enjoyed using the movie characters and themes to depict these ideas and feelings.
